July 11, 2007--The National Olympic Council of Thailand arrived in Singapore today with a formal invitation for Singapore to participate in the 24th South East Asian Games in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand to be held in December this year.
Representing the Thai National Olympic Council was General Charouck Arirachakaran, the Secretary General, and Chaiyapak Siriwat, Vice President of the NOC. Chris Chan, the Secretary General of the Singapore National Olympic Council, accepted the invitation on behalf of Singapore's athletes
and officials preparing for the Games.
The 24th SEA Games will begin on December 6th and conclude on December 15th. With 43 sports on the roster, more than 10,000 athletes, officials and support staff are expected to attend the Games. For more information, please refer to the official SEA Games site www.2007seagames.com.
