With only two years of experience under her belt, 22 year-old Elizabeth Tan is relatively new to sailing. The former hurdler is crew for the top female helm in the 470 class, Toh Liying. Elizabeth was brought into sailing through a talent identification program. Her strength makes her an ideal as an Olympic 470 crew.

Paired with Toh Liying, Elizabeth has already shown that she can make it on a world stage. They placed 30th at the 2006 World 470 Championships—Elizabeth’s 3rd international regatta. She is training full time, focused on Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games.
