Roy Tay
Roy Tay has always been willing to invest everything he had to pursue his sporting dream. The 23 year-old sailor started racing when he was only 14 years old. Less than 10 years later won a gold medal with the Keelboat Match Racing Team at the Asian Games in Doha in 2006. He also was appointed flag-bearer for the Games.

He has a proven track record in competitive sailing, being a 1998 Asian Games bronze medallist in the Optimist Class. In 2001, Roy and his crew, Ou Dahui, were silver medallists at both the ISAF Youth World Championships and the SEA Games in Malaysia in the 420 class.

Following the 2002 Asian Games, Roy paired with the 470 bronze medalist from those games, Chung Pei Ming, to form a formidable team in the 470 class. Narrowly missing a Gold Medal in a 3-way tussle at the 2005 SEA Games in the Philippines, Roy came back with a renewed determination in 2006 to achieve his Olympic ambitions. Training full time, Roy is aiming for the Beijing Games in 2008 and possibly the 2012 Games in London in the 470 class.
