| Simon Chua’s interest in bodybuilding was inspired by his brother when he was 15 years old. After he finished his education, Simon became a fitness instructor at the YMCA, following his stint in National Service. This allowed him to train seriously for 3 to 4 hours a day.
Simon’s first major success came in the 1997 SEA Games in Jakarta where he took the gold medal. He followed this win with a further gold at the 2002 Asian Games, where bodybuilding was introduced for the first time. He also took gold in the 2002 Commonwealth Games, the 2003 SEA Games and the 2006 Asian Games in Doha.
Simon Chua’s patience and passion for the sport have earned him the honour of being one of Asia’s most elite bodybuilders. |
