SSC CEO APPOINTED AS CHEF DE MISSION FOR THE 2005 PHILIPPINES
SEA GAMES
Mr Oon Jin Teik, a Member of Singapore National Olympic Council
(SNOC), and the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Sports Council
(SSC), has been appointed as the Chef de Mission of the Singapore
contingent for the South-east Asia Games 2005.
This was released at last Saturday’s SEA Games 2005 / Commonwealth
Games 2006 Preparation Workshop for National Sports Associations
at Plaza Parkroyal Hotel. This year’s SEA Games will take
place between 27 November and 5 December 2005.
Mr Oon was named Sportsboy of the Year in 1980, and represented
Singapore at numerous international meets, including the 1986 Commonwealth
Games in Edinburgh and the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
He was appointed CEO of SSC on 26 April 2004, and co-opted into
the SNOC on 17 May 2004.
