2004 SINGAPORE SPORTS AWARDS 2004
The Singapore National Olympic Council will pay tribute to our
athletes who have performed exceptionally well in 2003.
The Singapore Sports Awards Selection Committee chaired by RAdm
(NS) Teo Chee Hean, President of Singapore National Olympic Council
and Minister for Defence, selected the senior awardees and endorsed
the Junior Awardees, this afternoon.
The following are the main award winners:
Sportsman of the Year Mr Wong Tuck Yim James (Athletics)
Sportswoman of the Year Ms Li Jiawei (Table Tennis)
Sportsboy of the Year Mr Ong Jun Hong (Shooting)
Sportsgirl of the Year Ms Low Sanmay (Gymnastics)
Coach of the Year Mr Yew Kam Wah Calvin (Bodybuilding)
Team of the Year National Women’s Table Tennis Team
Young Team of the Year (Events) National Women’s Artistic
Gymnastics Team
*Special Award The National Waterpolo Teams of the last 20 SEA Games
*A Special Award has been accorded to the Gold medal SEA Games
National Waterpolo Teams for their record 20 consecutive gold medals
since the 1965 SEA Games, Kuala Lumpur.

The Singapore Sports Awards Presentation Ceremony will be held
on 26 May 2004 at 8.00pm at the Shangri-La Hotel. The Guests-of-Honour
are Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong and Mrs Goh Chok Tong.
